Aubrey's Dance Class

This past Tuesday was observation day at Aubrey's dance, so Grandma, Grandpa, Ethan and I all were able to watch her.

Aubrey's Birthday- Part 1

We were lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa visit us from Ohio for a little while. They came down and spent a few days with us and and then went down further south in Florida to visit my aunt and then came a stayed a few more days before they headed home. Grandma played a lot of games and helped with Ethan's homework. Aubrey also got spoiled with trips to McDonalds and the park and many hours spent playing with all her toys.
I escaped one night and went shopping all by myself while Derek was at church. I found this sleeping bag for Aubrey at Target for $5! She loved it and was so excited to have her own sleeping bag. We set up the tent inside and the kids slept in it one night and then used it to play polar bears like they had seen in Sea World.
On their second visit Grandpa brought Aubrey 4 roses for her birthday. He used to do this when we were kids. I somehow missed getting a picture of her and Grandpa with them.
She is into this really cheesy grin lately that is driving me crazy!
Aubrey is having a Barbie party for her real birthday, so I was practicing with making the skirt for the barbie with a bowl that I had. We just had a skirt cake as Aubrey called it. I dressed it up with some sprinkles and a 4 candle.

Opening some presents
Ethan gave her this Polly Pocket limo that opens up with a pool and tv in the back. I think he thinks it is as cool as she does! He is showing her how it works.
Mrs. Potts and Chip- Aubrey loves Chip. She would carry a tiny little one around and we were always looking for it. Bruster then chewed on it, so I found these on Amazon. Again, the cheesy grin and the head tilt.

Two Barbie movies from Great Grandma. We have watched both multiple times.
An Ariel doll that goes in the tub from Uncle Keith.
Telling Grandma thank you.

Sea World

Starting our day off at Sea World. Aubrey fell asleep on the way there so she started out the day being carried by Grandpa. This was a momentous day for the Overton family as we did the whole day WITHOUT a stroller. Aubrey did complain a few times, but she made it and it was so much easier not having to keep up with the stroller.
Feeding the sting rays shrimp. This was such a big hit, Grandpa went a bought another tray of shrimp.

Grandma bought them these cool necklaces that can light up and change colors while we were waiting for a show to start. They can also turn off and just be white.

Ethan really liked watching these street guys, he thought they were really funny.
Aubrey drinking her strawberry milk at lunch. I actually forced her to drink some. For those who know Aubrey, know she LOVES strawberry milk, but not the kind that you buy. For some strange she only likes it when it is white milk with strawberry syrup in it. Silly girl is there really a difference - apparently so.
Climbing the rope nets. Grandpa went up and helped Aubrey some of the way.

Upward Basketball

Ethan is playing Upward Basketball again this year. He really enjoys it and has a great time playing.

Aubrey really likes the cheerleaders. The girls we carpool with and Derek's assistant's daughter were both cheering.
Grandma and Grandpa were in town and able to take in a game.

Playing Together

There are few things that bring greater joy to a mother than observing her children playing together. No fights. No arguing. Just simply enjoying each other.

Yes, Aubrey has a problem keeping her pants up!

Baking

Baking is something I have always enjoyed doing. Church was having a volunteer appreciation night and I was asked to make some goodies for it. I made 4 batches of chocolate chip cookies and about 600 mini cupcakes. It was all about time management and getting a little creative as to where to put all the cupcakes in the house, since you can not really stack them. I made the cookies last week and froze them and did the cupcakes in two days. I said that I would not have to make another cupcake anytime soon. Guess what the object lesson is for our kids at church next week...yep- cupcakes. Looks like I will be making some more, but only about 70 and they do not have be frosted, the kids are going to do that.

Blizzard 2010

This was the small amount of snow that we woke up to this morning. It was actually more of an ice mixture, but it was something. We checked a couple of times during the night and missed it actually coming down which was a bummer.

Pictures For Great Grandma

Great Grandma is recovering from knee surgery at a rehab facitlity, so the kids made her some artwork for her walls. They were so cute, I just had to share. I had to write down what Aubrey drew, but boy did she sure know what it was she was drawing! If you click on the picture, you can see it larger.
This was my favorite - Great Grandma as a ballerina! She even has a tutu, or skirt as Aubrey called it. I had to hold back from laughing out loud. I think we have a budding artist on our hands!

Ethan did a really nice job on his card. They drew lighthouses in art this week and coming from a mother who is not good at drawing, I think he did a good job. He wanted me to write what it was even though I told him she would know it was a lighthouse. Not worth the argument, so I wrote it for him as well. Hope you get a good smile out of these as I did and we hope they bring enjoyment to Great Grandma!

Smores

We decided to take advantage of the cooler weather we are having in Florida and made some smores using our fire pit.

They can get a little messy!

A fun little treat for a cold evening!
