We flew up to Ohio to my parents house for Thanksgiving and had a great time. The kids did great traveling. Aubrey had to say hello to every person as we walked down the plane aisle to our seats. On Thursday morning we went to the nursing home to visit my mother's mom who had a stroke about 4 years ago. When Ethan showed her his missing teeth she said "wow", which is a new word for her. She is not able to talk much. Since we are not all able to get together for Christmas anymore, we exchanged gifts when we got back to the house. It is such fun watching the kids open their presents and really be excited about them. Thanksgiving afternoon, some of my dad's family was able to join us. The kids got more presents from Great Grandma at the Lake (as we call her at home). Ethan loved playing with Garrett and Evan and I think at one time for about 5 minutes he did not have anyone to play with. Ethan got mini golf for the Wii so Derek, Keith, Evan and I played that a lot. We also played some card games. It would not be a family gathering without some games. We did not have much snow, but the kids played on the deck for a few minutes in what was left. Aubrey loved the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa's because we do not have them at home. Of course, she did not want any help on them. She finally took a tumble down the last few about an hour before we were leaving and got a little bump on her head. A group of us were sitting around the kitchen table playing cards and Aubrey was hanging out with Grandma. Aubrey told her she wanted cream on her hands, so my mom thought she wanted lotion as she had just washed her hands. Aubrey adamantly told her no, that cream and pointed to the whipped cream on the counter. She has moved from whipped cream on her finger to wanting it on her whole hand. Crazy girl! Aubrey had lots of fun playing train with various passengers and letting everyone around know what she wanted. Derek and I were able to get out on Friday morning for some shopping. We rounded out our trip with a trip to the ER with my dad. He cut his hand on a glass that broke while he was washing dishes. Derek and I took him to get 3 stitches in his hand. At least he gets out of doing dishes for awhile.
Here are some pictures from our time in Ohio. Somehow, I did not get any pictures of Great Grandma from the Lake so Mom or Keith if you have any pictures send them my way.
