Sweet Aubrey celebrated her 5
th birthday today. She chose a Strawberry Shortcake theme. You have to have store bought items at school, so she picked this out at Target to take in to her class. There is a story behind these cupcakes. Yesterday, we had a tornado watch
lock down at school. My stress level was very high with crying
Kindergartners in that wonderful head down sitting position for 40 minutes. Not to mentioned it was at the end of the school day, so we had to dismiss over 30 minutes late. Add rain to that and more heavy rain in the
forecast. I just wanted to get home, but we needed to stop by Target and pick up Aubrey's cupcakes. It is only lightly raining at this time, so I wanted to get in and out before the downpour. After waiting at the bakery counter for 5 minutes without any help, we quickly walked around and collected the other few items we needed. Back to the bakery and still no workers. There was however a young guy at the deli next to it. I politely asked him if there was anyone who could help me because I needed to pick up a cake. The cupcakes were in plain view, about 10 steps away on the counter. He went to look and said she must be on break and would come back in a few minutes. A couple minutes later I saw a worker walk in another door to the back of the bakery. I figured she would come out and help me. Nope. After a few minutes of waiting, I could not take it anymore so I did a very Palm Coast thing. Yep, I walked behind the counter and picked up my cupcakes, left my pick up
receipt on the counter and took them to the checkout. We made it before the downpour. I did however, do this all very
politely. Now, back to Aubrey's birthday.
Here is her class singing to her.
Aubrey and her teacher Ms. Leah. She got to pick a prize out of the birthday treasure box.
Such a decision
She chose a Strawberry Shortcake stamp.
Passing her cupcakes out to her classmates.
Ms. Leah gave her a glove to put on to pass them out. She was just too cute.
Yummy! She also has started to like to sleep in curlers so she can have curly hair, so we did that last night for her birthday.
We got home form school and it was present time. Aubrey did the sweetest thing that just may be a new tradition for us. She came running up to Derek with her little baby Bible and said he needed to read a verse before she could open her presents. We laughed and realized she was thinking of Christmas where we read the Christmas Story before opening presents. Who are we to argue with reading the Bible? Is there ever a bad time for reading the Bible? I love how she is all snuggled up to Derek as he read a verse on the page she opened. So sweet!
She has been wanting pajamas for her Barbies and surprisingly they were hard to find. I ordered some on
Ebay.
Some
Legos from Ethan.
A potty seat for her baby dolls.
Being silly with the Strawberry Shortcake doll she wanted. Her make up is supposed to change with cold water, but we can not seem to get it to work. Good thing it was on clearance after Christmas. She smells good though.
This is her new thing- silly poses.
Easy Bake oven
Wii baby
More cake! She wanted pink, so it was strawberry cake with pink icing.
