Aubrey wanted a Barbie party for her 4th birthday. Here is the cake I made for her. Aubrey was very worried that after we took the barbie out to cut the cake it would not be a barbie cake anymore. When she got into party mode, she did not seem to mind.
Aubrey all ready for her party after church today. She invited some friends to McDonalds to have her party because she loves to go there and play. I made a bow to match her Barbie outfit for the party and when I put it in her hair she said, "I look like Minnie- I am not having a Minnie party!" Maybe I made the bow a little too big, but I know there is limited time left for these cute little things and you only have a 4th birthday party once.
The big bow
Getting some pictures before all her friends arrive.
Showing us her 4 fingers.
No more pictures please! I want to go and play.
We always do balloons for their birthdays
Okay, off to play. Does this girl look happy or what?
Her best friend from school Ava arrives
Ethan playing with all the older kids of the party.
Time to eat! Ethan was the only boy and noticed he was the only one to get a hamburger - random fact for your reading pleasure.
Our little chicken nugget girl
Playing with her friends Grace and Nora
Singing to the birthday girl
Blowing out her candle. It was hard to figure out where to put the candle on this cake.
Who wants cake?
Time to open presents! The party coordinator at McDonalds was fantastic! She cleaned up everything, including all the wrapping paper. We did not have to do a thing except enjoy watching the party and taking pictures.
Derek checking out what is in the treat bags. He is still a kid at heart.
Aubrey thanking her friend Grace from school for her present.
I think it is cute at this age how all the kids crowd around the presents and all want to help open them.Modeling her cute apron from Hannah and Haley. They were very sweet to come to Aubrey's party. These are the girl we carpool with so Aubrey gets to spend a lot of time with them.
Someone put this bow on Ethan and he wore it the rest of the party.
Aubrey opening the Barbie Muskateer carriage that he chose to get her. She opened it up and there were only cardboard people in the carriage and she asked where the people were. Luckily, I brought to of them as her other presents for her to open. I discovered this is a great time of year for a birthday because I really did well on clearance toys for her after Christmas.
A mermaid barbie from Ms Anne.
Aubrey giving Faith from church a thank you hug for her present.
She sure did make out! All kinds of Barbie stuff and surprisingly not any duplicates. She wanted to open them all right away and play, but then was okay to go off and play on the playground some more.Family shot
We adopted another child! This little girl jumped into our picture. She was there for the whole party and kept trying to take Aubrey's presents. She kept looking at them and picking them up even after we asked her to stop. Derek finally had to take them out to the car. We laughed so hard after she got into the family picture!
Look who we found at the front door when we got home! Silly dog must have come outside while we were loading up the car and we never realized it. He was outside for 3 hours. Now we know he will not run away.
We put together this really cool puzzle that Ms. Rebekah picked out. It is a lenticular puzzle where the 3D image changes. I have never seen one like it and it was really neat!
Aubrey playing with her new carriage from Ethan.
She has been playing since we got home with her new toys. How quickly they get spread out all over her room!
We had a great time today and Aubrey sure did have a good time. Her actual birthday is tomorrow so there is more fun in store for our sweet little girl.
