Back Home

We arrived back home tonight around 5:00. Derek had prizes waiting for all of us. I had cherries, grapes and York Peppermint Pieces waiting on the counter for me. I did not take any pictures of Aubrey, but have a video of her surprise. She got a Tiana Barbie doll, a ribbon twirler and some new things for her room that Derek changed around last week.


After Derek changed around Aubrey's room, Ethan mentioned that he thought his bedding was a little to babyish for him. That was all that Derek needed to inspire him. If you know Derek, he has to redecorate something while I am away. His project this time was Ethan's room. He gave him new bedding and changed a lot of stuff around to give him more room. He was a bargain shopper too!


He made a little music area for him for all his instruments. He hung a dry erase board on the wall for him to play school instead of the big easel that was falling apart anyway. Darren was in town visiting and came over for dinner and drew the picture for Ethan.


Derek moved Ethan's toy cubbies into his closet to give him more floor space. He also cleaned out the turtle tank, which has not been cleaned since we got him, about 2 1/2 years ago!
I was cleaning up after dinner and opened the pantry and immediately noticed a horrible smell. I found a bag with a few potatoes left in it that was so rotten they had liquefied. Derek said he knew he kept smelling something, but did not know what it was....good thing I am back home to come to the rescue!

We reminded her that she had her room rearranged and some things added to it before we left. Later she asked Derek again if he had anything else for her. Oh, the tough lessons we have to learn in life!
