Great Minds Think Alike

Today at school both kids did the same things. It was too cute of an opportunity to pass up a post. They both made necklaces out of colored macaroni.

They also both made turkey out of their hand prints. The fingers were colored the same too. Ethan thought that it was really cool.
We are flying up to Ohio tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We are hoping for snow to play in!

Starting Early

This morning I was throwing in a load of Ethan's clothes before church and I decided to have him help. I pushed a chair up the the washer and he checked all the clothes to make sure they were not inside out and that everything was out of the pockets. It took him a long time, but he loved it. I think I will have to get him to help more often. Now if I can only figure out how to get him to fold them and put them away - that would be a great day!

Of course, he had a little helper who wanted to be a part of the laundry fun. She brought her little stool and Ethan gave the socks to put in.

Tree Decorating

We entered a coloring contest at the library so this was our coloring time together on Tuesday night.
We have a crazy schedule in December so we took advantage of a free weekend and pulled out all the Christmas stuff. This is how I found Ethan this morning. He was doing a concert with all this "things" on stage. He loves all the little things that move and we usually add a new one each year. He and Aubrey decorated the tree all by themselves last night.
I found Aubrey trying to decorate her tree this morning. It was very sweet. She was sticking her little ornaments all in the thing and could not understand why it would not stand up. It did not have the stand on yet, so I gave her a hand and we finished the tree.

Leaves are so fun!

Sorry for the poor quality, but I still wanted to share the pictures of the kids playing in our little leaf pile. I had my camera on the wrong setting so that is why they are so blurry. They had a blast yesterday playing in a small, and I can not describe how small it was, pile of leaves at the end of the slide. These are about all the leaves we have in our yard, but they sure had fun.

Yes, she is riding down the slide on Ethan's back.
It will not surprise you that I found multiple bruises on Aubrey's knees that night. The price they pay for a little fun.

Weekend Update

We have been busy the last few days. We left on Wednesday afternoon to go to NC to see Derek's parents. We went to the Christmas show on Thursday. Aubrey and Papa stayed home and played with Aunt Joy. On Friday, Derek and I did lots of shopping and only have 2 more gifts to buy for Christmas. That night Derek and I went on a date to Harpers and enjoyed a chocolate fountain back at the house for his birthday. The chocolate fountain is always a hit and the kids really liked it. Poor Papa had the task of cleaning it all up! The Disney store had an Ariel costume on clearance for $7, so course we picked it up for Aubrey. Ethan got some pirate accessories as well. When we let Aubrey try her costume on Ethan wanted her to come and play with him and she looked right at him and said, "No, Ethan I am a ermaid right now!" It was so funny we all just laughed.
Saturday we headed back to Fl in time for church. My best friend from high school and her husband had been on a cruise so they were able to spend the night with us. We had a great time as it has been awhile since we have seen them. Sunday was also Derek's birthday. We celebrated with a cake and Ms. Anne came over to watch the kids so Derek and I could use a gift card we had for dinner and see the new James Bond movie. Also, on Sunday Aubrey was showing off her bike riding skills. Last week she just started riding all over the driveway. I asked Derek when she learned that because last time we tried, it did not go so well. He was not sure when she learned, but she has gotten pretty good. I think that is all the excitement recently. We have this week at home and then next week we head to OH for Thanksgiving. Enjoy the pictures!

Fair Night

Last night we went to family night at the Volusia County fair. It was a perfect night. It was a little chilly and felt like fall. Aubrey was a little too short for some of the rides, but there was still plenty for her to do. Ethan brought his own money to buy cotton candy and was super excited about it. Another great time together as a family!
