Consignment Find

I found this cute little outfit for Aubrey at our consignment store for $12. I did not recognize the brand Pickle Juice, but could tell it was expensive. I did some research and this full price would have cost between $75-$90. I got a great deal and it looks cute on her.
With Aunt Joy this morning before church. Her and Uncle Danny are in town to watch the kids while we sneak away for a few days for our anniversary.

Body Tracing

Sunday before heading out to church we decided to make body tracings on some large brown paper that Derek had. Aunt Joy was telling Aubrey to color the toes on her picture and Aubrey took her literally and tried to color her toes, which is what she is doing in the picture. I remembered doing this as a kid and enjoying it. They had fun.

Celebrating 7 Years Together

Tomorrow will be our 7th anniversary. I went through and found some wedding pictures.

This was us in our matching outfits on our Honeymoon in Hawaii.

This is us now, 7 years later. I am just happy that I can still fit into the dress. It was a little looser then, but I have also had 2 kids so I am okay with that. Derek was thrilled to have this picture taken and he only did it because of his deep love for me! After we took the picture I could not find the original since it was pre-digital days. I was determined so I found it in the farthest box possible in our garage that was of course on the bottom, but I found it!

Derek is a wonderful husband and I am very blessed to be married to him. I would do it all over again! We are heading out of town for a few days to celebrate.

Just Like Mommy

This morning when we were getting ready, Aubrey told me she wanted a pink shirt on just like Mommy. So here we are matching together today. I thought I should enjoy the moment while I have the chance that she wants to be like me - makes me think of my actions sometimes and how much she really does watch me.

We even have matching shoes! She thought this was really cool. Mine are American Eagle brand that I found at Payless and hers are a different brand, but the same thing.

Walking Tornado

This is what I mean by Aubrey being a "Walking Tornado." This is what her room looked like today after not picking it up all day and her not watching much tv. Her sheets were also washed and need to be put back on. Looks like I have some fun ahead of me!

Aubrey's Picture Day

Aubrey had pictures at school today. This is what she looked like when she went to school...she has some serious product in her hair to try to get it to stay put. It should be interesting to see what the pictures look like.

Whitening Toothpaste

We have brown towels in our bathroom and we kept having random bleach spots show up on them. While shopping for new towels to replace the ones that looked bad I finally figured out what was causing the spots - whitening toothpaste. So I did a little experiment. I went right then and bought non-whitening toothpaste. It was much harder than I thought it would be. Anyway, we have been using plain old Aqua Fresh now for a couple of weeks and no spots on the new towels. I also think the toothpaste was causing some random spots on our shirts where we may have gotten some on us. Anyway, just thought I would share my enlightenment and see if anyone else has had similar problems.

Back to the Beach

When Derek got home from the last service at church we headed out to the beach for a couple of hours. It was beautiful weather and we had a great time.
Ethan in the waves with Grandma and Grandpa. He went out the furthest he has yet and really had a good time. He did not like the salt water in his eyes so the goggles helped that.

Grandma found this sand bowling set so we tried it out. It was a good idea, but it was too hard to knock down the pins.

Ethan in the waves with Daddy.
Aubrey playing with the bubbles.
Sunbathing - she just laid right down in the sand. She is taking after her Aunt Joy!

Not sure if she had more sand than Sprite.

New Car and Alligator Farm

My parents came in town to bring us our new car! When we moved to Fl Derek and I were tossing around the idea of getting a bigger car for traveling back to NC for visits. My parents offered to give us their 2003 Honda Pilot if we would wait a year for my brother to get out of college. We had to think about that for about a minute before we said sure. The car has 100,000 miles, but we hope to get several more years out of it. We are very thankful to them for being so generous to us. What a blessing for us. We have been talking about it and Ethan did not think it was right that we not pay them something for the car. I asked him what he thought we should give them and after thinking for a few minutes he proudly announced that he thought we should pay them $5. I told him I thought we could do that, how funny! We went to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine and had a nice time. The kids got to pet a snake and an owl.

This picture is for you Nana! We know how you love snakes!!
This was a huge turtle that we saw.
Feeding the alligators was a big hit! You put the quarter in and get the little pellets to feed them. We had used all the quarters that Grandpa had and Aubrey kept saying she wanted throw it over there. We all kept telling her that we did not have anymore food. She was very persistent and at least 10 minutes later I finally realized that she had one little pellet still in her hand and that was what she wanted to throw. I told her I was sorry for not understanding her and quickly took her back to the alligators so she could throw it in.

Funny photo idea that Daddy had.

Grandpa's birthday is next week, but we celebrated it last night. The kids were really into helping blow out the candles. I did not do one of my usual cakes, but made a Weight Watchers one instead because I trying to be good. It was still yummy!

Ethan picked out the card for Grandpa all on his own.
Big surprise on his present. We have been doing this for at least 4 years. We always give him a shirt with him and the kids picture on it. He loves them and proudly wears all the older versions as well. This year with the stock market doing so poorly we wrote "Grandpa's Investments" on the shirt. We thought it was funny.

New Set Is Done!

Aubrey and I went to story time today at the library and she decided to put her name sticker on her nose as we were leaving. We also checked out a backpack that has the puppets to If You Give a Pig A Pancake. It is really cute and a plus was that it matched her outfit!
We worked again at the church today getting the new set ready for the weekend. I am happy to say that we finished!
Ticket booth in place.
Roller coaster on the wall.
The finished product. The chairs were set up for Bible study tonight. We are doing a theme park that teaches about the Fruits of the Spirit. Looking forward to the weekend as it is always fun to kick off a new series.

Monday Night Bowling

We were watching Seth tonight for a couple of hours so after dinner we headed out to play some bowling. Our lane was crazy and it had a hard time resetting and counting their pins so it took FOREVER! They probably bowled the equivalent of three games in the one that we finished. They had a lot of fun though, so that is all that really matters.

Aubrey had a turn with some help from Daddy.

Ethan brought his wallet and really wanted to pay for bowling. It was very cute and the people bowling nearby were amazed. I told them I was training him to be a good date one day. He is such a thoughtful little guy.
