Spring Break

Today was the first day of Spring Break and we are taking it easy. We ventured out to a new park. It was sort of small and a little wet from the rain.

We went over to another park that was not as wet. The kids had fun playing and I got to do some reading.

We stopped at the gas station to get Icees before eating lunch with Derek at church. Ethan really likes the coconut flavored one at the RaceTrack. The last two times we have stopped, that particular one was not working. If the consistency is not correct, the red light it on and it needs to be mixed up before you can use it. Ethan was excited that his flavor was working today! My favorite flavor however, was not working. You can't win them all.
Ethan has been playing some Wii and relaxing around the house.
Aubrey has watched lots of TV in our bed (this is a treat for her) and been playing in her room. She loves to put on her fancy dresses and can destroy her room in no time. We are going to Disney tomorrow, so we wanted to have some down time to relax before the busyness of Disney.

First Soccer Game

The one and only picture we got of Ethan and he played the whole game...oops! I will add that his game was at 8:00 am and it was pretty cool still. Aubrey and I were bundled up under a blanket. Promise more pictures next game.
Aubrey waiting with her team for her game to start.
Attractive

Ready to being playing...they play 3 on 3 in her age group.

Aubrey got to kick it off...one of the few times she actually touched the ball.

The oranges at half time were the best part. Why will my kids eat oranges at soccer games, but not at home??
One tired out little girl fell asleep on the way home.
Ethan took a picture of this huge turtle that was in our yard. Someone spray painted his shell.

Soccer Begins

Soccer season has begun. Ethan and Aubrey are both playing this year and they both have practice on Wednesday nights. Our Wednesdays just became TOTALLY insane! Here is a snapshot of what will be our Wendesdays for some time. I can leave school at 3:30. Aubrey has to be at dance from 4:00-5:00. Ethan has soccer practice across town from dance from 5:00-6:00. Aubrey has soccer practice from 5:30-6:15. We have to pick up Ethan's friend and get them to church (again across town) by 6:45. Derek and I will be doing lots of driving and some tag teaming for sure. I have staff meetings once a month on Wednesdays after school, but we will just cross that bridge when we get to it. At least we get it all over with in one day!
Ethan streching with his team.

Aubrey did not go to dance since she was still not 100% better. Since her first soccer game in Saturday and she has never played before I really wanted her to try to make it to practice. She was dragging for sure and coughing a lot.

Taking a lap around the field
Can you tell she is dragging....she would not normally be the last one. This girl has lots of energy!

I was a bad Mom and did not have a soccer ball for her. For one thing I did not know what size she needed and it was just enough to get to practice with all our sickness this week. Here she is telling Coach she does not have a ball. I must clarify that there were 7 children who did not have balls and Coach only had 6 extra ones. Again, Aubrey was dragging and slow on the draw to get a ball. At least she looked cute in her little soccer clothes. Three other girls at the fields had the same cute little soccer shorts from Kohls. I must get some Mom points for that:)
Aubrey just walking around without a ball....it was pretty pathetic. After a few minutes Coach had his daughter give her ball to Aubrey.
Now she has a ball. And yes, we got her one that night so she will have one at practice from now on.

Not sure what she is supposed to be doing...poor little thing was so out of it.

We have our first games on Saturday, so I will be sure to take more pictures!

Sick Aubrey

Aubrey has been sick since Saturday and was so pathetic just lying around moaning. Last night she finally started to feel better. She got all dressed up by herself. She even put her heels on, complete with Barbie stickers. I took her to the doctor today and she does have an ear infection. Hopefully, she will be able to go back to school today. I woke up this morning with a sinus infection and Derek has a nasty cold and cough. We were a pretty sad bunch today lying around the house. Ethan is the only well one and I must say he was just wonderful this morning. He got ready all by himself and even helped Aubrey get dressed for her doctor appointment. The medicine has kicked in for me and my sinus pressure is much more bearable now. Derek had to go to rehearsal tonight, so we will see how he is fairing when he gets home. At least we got the sickness over before Spring Break next week!

Stars On Ice

We were blessed with tickets from a friend to Smuckers Stars On Ice. The best part is that they were third row tickets. Aubrey has been sick all weekend so Derek stayed home with her and Ethan and I headed to the Amway Center for the show. Ethan posing under Dwight Howard with his ice cream. We were walking to the Amway Center and Ethan said, "I wish Grandpa was with us because he would buy me ice cream." We laughed and called Grandpa and then I bought the deprived kid some ice cream
There was a cool sign in the floor at the floor seat entrance that Ethan wanted to get a picture by it.
The show was really great and here are some pictures from the show.

Not the best picture, but Ethan was impressed how they do not get cut by the skates during moves like this one.

We left right after the finale ended, so we could relieve Derek from Aubrey sick duty. Ethan ended up standing right by the ice and the performers were skating by and I convinced him to stick his hand out like some of the others were doing. He was able to get high fives from about half the cast. That was very neat!

St. Patrick's Day

Since we are a uniform school, the kids were able to add green to their uniform for St. Patrick's Day. Aubrey made this cute little hat at school. When she was on the phone talking to Nana I asked her why she made the hat today. She said she made it for "green day." She is always making us smile.

Silly girl!

Ethan wore a Kermit hat I found and Aubrey wore some green leggings and a hair bow that I made for her.
