Trip to Concord

We made it to Concord without any incidents (car sickness) in time for Aubrey's therapy. Here she is with Julie Ann. She was so happy to see Aubrey and so was the rest of the staff. She just walked on in like she owned the place. Here she is walking up a ramp for the necklaces. This is where her necklace fascination started. Julie Ann was thrilled with the progress Aubrey has made. However, she does need some braces on her ankles. I will be finding an orthodist in Fl to fit her for them. She walks on the inside of her feet, especially her right foot. Julie Ann said she would be fine without the braces, but we may really notice some bowleggedness (not sure if that is really a word) when she turns 5. It may also hinder any athletic talent she might have. So if we can fix it, why not. Aubrey had a great time at therapy.
Here is Aubrey after therapy. Taking a nap with Papa. I think it is a favorite thing for both of them.
Aubrey had a first at dinner that night. She ate with a fork. She was very proud of herself, stabbing the chicken and green beans with her own fork. Several pieces landed on the floor, but she is making progress. I believe this is the beginnings of the doing it herself phase.
It did not take Ethan long to change into his VBS shirt and perform his songs for Nana and Papa.We have missed Concord Mills and did a lot of shopping for the fall for the kids while we were in town. We enjoyed lunch on Thursday with our dear friends, Bill and Rhonda. We were sad that their kids missed out with being at school. It was great to catch up with them.
Thursday night Derek and I went out to see a movie. We have not done that in awhile. We took advantage of Nana, Papa and Aunt Joy around to watch the kids. We miss that a lot. I have no idea how Aunt Joy missed being in all the pictures, but we sure had fun with her. Uncle Danny met up for dinner Friday night and Ethan was excited to ride back to the house in his truck. We sure did get a lot of laughs over Aubrey and her dummy. I have no idea where Nana pulled him out from, but Aubrey took to him. I mean she really took to him. She was kissing all over him. We called him her boyfriend. We laughed and laughed. I took about 10 pictures, but could not capture an actual kiss, but I think you can get the idea.

We went to the park one morning and had a good time climbing and sliding.

I thought this was a sweet picture of Ethan and Aubrey holding hands walking across the bridge.
Since Nana and Papa live off a main road, Ethan and Nana enjoy looking at fire trucks as they go by. Here Ethan is looking out the window because they heard a siren. I am not sure who gets more excited, Ethan or Nana.
We were able to see our cousins for about 30 minutes this morning before we left at 6:30. They arrived from Delaware around 1:00 this morning. They woke at 6:00 to visit for a little before we had to leave. Not a bad picture for 6:00 in the morning.
Gabriella really liked playing with Aubrey and showing her the dolls she brought. Too bad we could not have had more time with them. Hopefully, they will still be interested in each other at Christmas.
Ethan is helping Derek pump gas when we took a lunch break.
We enjoyed out trip and look forward to another. Ethan and Aubrey were glad to get out of the car when we got home and played together while we unpacked the car.
