Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have always enjoyed baking and I came across a recipe for chocolate chip cookies years ago that I have tweaked some and think I finally came up with the perfect cookie last night. Here is the recipe.

1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt (I use popcorn salt because it is finer, but regular salt is okay too)
1 bag semi sweet chocolate chunks (or just regular chips)
1 bag milk chocolate chips

Chill the dough for a couple of hours. This makes them harder to scoop out, but it produces and much chunkier and prettier cookie. If you are in a hurry they still take good to bake them right away, but they are a little on the flat side. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they look like they are not quite done and let them sit for a few minutes before removing them. They will firm up and the result is a soft and yummy cookie. These cookies also freeze very well.
