Pumpkin Carving

We had a good time carving pumpkins last night. I decided to be adventurous and do two pumpkins this year. I found a Cinderella pattern for Aubrey online. Ethan designed his own pumpkin using the Pumpkin Stencil Maker on the Better Homes and Gardens website. He really liked picking out the eyes, nose and mouth. We then printed the pattern. Of course he had to choose the most difficult mouth. I am the pumpkin carver in the family. Derek does not like the "yucky stuff" and neither do the kids. Aubrey would scoop out a few seeds at a time. She did it for about 30 minutes and did not get very far. She finally got a big scoop of stuff, but still would not touch it. Derek was kind enough to make lunches for the kids while I finished carving. Aubrey helped herself to some peanut butter during the process. The kids had a really good time last night and got to stay up later than usual. Before bed they decided to be cats and Derek played along by giving them some milk in bowls to drink. They actually drank it! It was really funny and the picture in the slide does not do it justice. Another great time as a family! I just love family time.
